This week, Mr. Cheong talked about HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language. Before he talked about HTML i had already know abit about HTML like their code structure. But after he showed us the slides about different types of HTML codes then i learned more. I learned about the linking of another webpage from my blog and also the different headers which differs from h1

EXAMPLE

to h6
EXAMPLE
which means header one to header six. Header one is the biggest while header six is the smallest. Normally i wound link a webpage with the settings given to me by my templates but now i can link it on my own! Also, another thing i learnt about the codes are the underlining and bolding of words. Underlining is EXAMPLE and bolding is EXAMPLE. This allows me to tell my readers what the main point is and what to take note of, but also i can use which is used to emphasize my words. So, now i am aiming to create my very own template which if successful i will use for my blog's skin. Like this =D

1st video under Decide Blog or Website: After watching this video i learnt most of the advantages and disadvantages of both a blog and a website. Actually, they are different in many ways such as the layouts and management of each of them. Afterall i still prefer the blog.

1st video under Intellectual Property - Is copy right?: After watching this video i realised that people only learn only when they have 'experienced' the pain which also means learning the hard way. Plagiarism is a bad thing to do as for example using only 10% of effort to take away someone's 100% of effort. So therefore COPY is NOT RIGHT like what i replied in the forum.

1st video under Social impact of new media: This video shows the future technologies which are human voice-controlled. i believe this will enable man's life to be much easier but i also feel that people shud not depend on technologies too much in case we get too complacent and lose all our abilities.

2nd video under Social impact of new media: The video shows us more about social networking sites which allows people all over the world to connect with each other enabling us to communicate even at a large distance. One connection is also equals to million of smaller connections example 1st connection's connections connect to you which makes them new connections.

After watching the video on the history of internet, i know that the first online network was called apranet and it was used by the military for long distance network computing. After that, alot of other networks were 'borned', such as: usenet, bitnet, dweebnet etc. Then the World Wide Web, also known as 'www' came in, it was then used by many ppl. I am also using it now!

Web 1.0 VS Web 2.0 after watching this video i know that last time when people used the internet they cant write much on the internet only looking for information posted by the web master was all they can do but now we have everything from blog to your own webpage like what we have on Ning. If i had not seen that video i would have thought that the internet was already like that last time, i mean not about the blog part but the expressing on the internet thing. Thanks for the video Mr.Cheong!

Today 12 Jan, the day i met my IS teacher, Mr. Cheong. He taught the class more about the internet and provided us with videos about the history of the internet on the internet. Something new to me is the Ning.com website, but the school's webmail provided to me was not activated yet so i could not create my 'Ning" account today. Perhaps tomorrow or another day.
